Services Offered at Aesthetic Clinics

Aesthetic clinics offer an array of services to men and women alike looking to alter parts of their bodies. These clinics can offer services as simple as Botox injections to something more extreme such as a facelift. All of these procedures are meant to make us appear younger and fresher. An extremely popular procedure among younger and older women is breast enhancements. Women who want an extra lift and/or an added cup size or two, will find the breast enhancement service most convenient and easy.

Another service offered at Aesthetic clinics that is on the rise is Pigmentation treatments. Pigmentation is a darkened area of the skin which is an product of excess melanin. These areas can show up as freckles, sunspots and even birthmarks. There are quite a number of reasons why they can appear but luckily it can be fixed to leave you with nice, even skin. Lightening creams and laser treatments have proven most effective for this particular issue. Laser treatments are the faster route to diminishing the dark spots but it has risks. Although laser treatments work faster and are more effective, there’s a risk of scarring and darker pigmentation. With the lightening creams, the process is much slower and may only fade pigmentation.

The Facelift is also a popular procedure. As it is growing in popularity, more options have become available in getting the job done. One clinic in particular offers medical and liquid facelift. The medical option uses microneedle radio frequency which repairs and restores elastin and collagen in the face to tighten the saggy and dry skin. This procedure is only of mild discomfort and results can be seen in 3 months worth of treatments. The liquid option consists of dermal fillers being injected into the face by a small needle to restore fullness lost over time. This is also said to be a minimally discomforting procedure. More information on the procedure can be found on

The Importance of Bone Health

Being conscious of your bone health is really important for people of all ages especially in the older generation. In today’s society people do not eat right or maintain lifestyles that promote good bone care. The average American does not get the appropriate amount of calcium in their diet.

Calcium is a substance that the body uses for many of its natural process, when a person does not take enough calcium in the body will start to take the calcium from bones which in return weakens the bones and makes them more likely to break. Adding extra calcium in your diet by drinking milk or eating cheese can promote good bone health. In addition to eating and drinking the appropriate amount of calcium everyone should make it a priority to see a bone doctor. Bone doctors are called Orthopedic.

Orthopedics specialize in the diagnosis, maintenance, and treatment of the skeletal system. Seeing a bone specialist is especially important for to one’s health as they age. The body wears down cartilage and bone density lessens allowing for bones to break much easier than when you were younger. Osteoarthritis is a condition of the bones where bone mineral density is lost and the bones began to weaken. This is most common in women after menopause although it can occur in men or women at any age. Bone density loss can be reversed by seeing a bone specialist, getting on a medicine regiment, and increasing the body’s intake of vitamin D and calcium.

Bone issues such as knee joint pain is not just reserved for the aging population but is also avidly seen in teens who play sports. Teens that play sports are at an obvious risk for bone breakage due to the intensity of sports in general, although teens are at risk when playing sports, sports tend to help the overall health of the bone itself by making it stronger through exercise. A rise in bone issues has occurred in young women in the past several years. Osteopenia is a condition that is affecting young women causing stress fractures. This and any other bone issue can be detected by visiting a sports clinic or a bone specialist. Remember our bones are what allow us to walk and maintain posture keeping them healthy is important to our well-being.

How to Practice The Best Natural Skin Care for Sensitive Skin

Chemicals Found In Body Wash Known To Be Harmful

Body wash chemical

Research has shown us that the chemicals we wash our bodies with may actually be harmful to us. Do you know what toxins may be in your soap or body wash at home? The last thing that we want to do is clean ourselves with harsh chemicals that can cause us more harm than good. There are many toxins put in your average body wash and here is a list of chemicals to help you become more aware of false advertising and purchase safer skincare products.

Triclosan is an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent that produces a high level of concern and is actually restricted for use in both Canada and Japan. It may cause issues with skin or organ toxicity, immunotoxicity, and may even cause allergies in children. It can also create dioxin which can have many negative effects on the endocrine system.

Propylene Glycol

Propylene glycol is a form of antifreeze that is used in many skincare products and foods. It is FDA approved because they have found it to be safe to use in small quantities. However, this chemical can cause problems such as respiratory toxicity, skin and eye irritation, and immunotoxicity.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

This is commonly used as a foaming agent and can cause dry, itchy skin and tends to make it very irritant. This ingredient can cause eye damage and even disrupt estrogen hormones causing reproductive difficulties in both men and women. This foaming agent actually strips the skin of natural oils and causes it more damage and dryness than before.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate

This Sulfate is is similar to the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate except that the Laurly Sulfate has worse side effects than the Laureth Sulfate. Both are foaming agents and skin irritants. The Laureth Sulfate can be contaminated with a hormone disrupter that has been linked to breast cancer.

DMDM hydantoin

DMDM hydantoin is an antimicrobial formaldehyde releaser preservative that is another ingredient in shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and hair and skin products that can be harmful. DMDM can cause lung, skin, and eye irritations, and too much exposure can lead to formaldehyde allergy. This chemical is actually restricted from use in skin products in Japan.

Even certain types of fragrances can be harmful to your body. Read every label and if there are words that seem to long to pronounce, that’s a good sign of it being an unnatural and possibly harmful ingredient. Try and use safe, organic, and all natural ingredients on your skin. Click here for natural body skin care products that are safe to use for you and your entire family.

What is Causing Your Dark Spots?

Dark Spots Tb

Deep brown, tan or black freckle-like spots on your face, hands, arms, shoulders, back and chest are usually stubborn reminders that we are getting older, or have had some type of trauma to the skin such as acne, or take medications that sensitize the skin to the sun such as estrogens or tetracyclines and others.

These skin pigmentation problems, called dark spots or age spots or liver spots, occur because the body produces either too much or too little melanin, the pigment in the skin which creates the color of our eyes, skin, eyes and hair. This faulty melanin production is primarily caused by years of unprotected exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun or the use of commercial tanning beds and lamps.

Many people fear that age spots may be cancerous growths, but they are actually harmless and don’t need treatment. However, for cosmetic reasons, age spots can be lightened with skin-bleaching products or can be removed.

Considered a good way to reduce the appearance of those dark spots and prevent new ones is avoiding the sun and the application and reapplication of a broad-spectrum mineral based titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide sunscreen with the sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 or 30 is strongly advised. You have to use the sunscreen 365 days a year, even when you’re inside the house, in order to get the brown spots to budge.

The ultimate combination of anti-aging retinol paired with antioxidants like vitamins C and E treat sun damage and uneven skin tone by repairing damaged skin cells and protecting against free-radical damage. There are also other helpful topical treatments.

Laser treatments or intense pulsed light therapy may have to be the answer for stubborn discolorations. They destroy melanin-producing cells without damaging the skin’s surface. The treatment that would be best for you needs to be determined by a skilled dermatologist who has a variety of different lasers and/or light-emitting devices.

Other options are freezing by applying liquid nitrogen or another freezing agent to the age spots to destroy the extra pigment, dermabrasion by sanding down the surface layer of your skin, or a chemical peel.

However, you can grab this treatment offer from Shakura Malaysia to initially attempt to help you on your way to a more beautiful skin.

How to Spot Floaters in Your Eye

Floaters TB

As people grow older with age, they tend to develop eye floaters, which in their sight are seen as spots, strands or even little flies and may appear to be grey or in a dark color within their vision. These floaters can be spotted in either just one eye or even in both, depending on the circumstances.

Floaters are suspensions within one’s vitreous humor, the thick clear fluid that fills the eye. These floaters can be as a result of the vitreous humor degenerative changes or in some instances accidents that would later cause foreign material to enter the eye’s fluid.

The eye is structured in such a way that the cornea and lens, in the front of the eye, focus light passes through the vitreous humor onto the eye’s retina that is at the back of the eye. Once these floaters develop, they tend to float in the path of light in the vitreous humor, thereby casting what a small shadow on the retina that the patient will later perceive to be a floater.

Eye Floaters

These floaters are suspended in the eye’s vitreous humor fluid and therefore continue to drift along within the eye following the exact same motion of the eye. They cannot be directly looked at by the patient and do not cause any health dangers to a patient, however, once the number of floaters in a single eye continue to increase in number it is important for one to visit an eye clinic or eye doctor, also known as an ophthalmologist, to diagnose.

The sudden increase in these spots in the eyes can be as a result of retina detachment, where the retina is moved from its normal position at the back of the eye. This condition is very serious and should be handled with utmost care.

Persons who suffer from diabetes are prone to developing floaters and a serious of other eye conditions from glaucoma and also due to the condition diabetic retinopathy that they tend to develop because of the diabetic condition.

Glaucoma, which is caused by an increase in the eye’s intraocular pressure, causes floaters and is not necessarily linked to only diabetic patients. The condition has been linked with excessive use of computers.

Floaters can also be caused by a condition known as macular degeneration where the retina, which is the light sensitive part of eye, begins to deteriorate.

Top 5 Reasons Tui-Na Massage is Great for Babies

Massage is no longer a healthful luxury for only adults to benefit from. It is the most helpful when it is catered to the specific health condition the client is experiencing. Children and infants have experienced many similar benefits as adults, but there are some very important advantages for young ones especially. Here are the top 5 reasons you should get your baby a massage:

1. It strengthens your baby’s immune system while helping to heal current ailments.

By improving circulation, your baby’s young immune system can efficiently remove potentially problematic toxins from her blood, including the ones that may or are currently causing her ailments. These ailments can be fever, earache, cough, nausea, loss of appetite, or more. In addition, applying pressure to certain points promotes the release of neurotransmitters that actively participate in immune system activities. The key to prevention from any major health concerns is to address minor issues with regular massage sessions.

2. The improved circulation to the brain helps with brain development.

Paired with a stimulating and educational environment and secure relationships with his parents, a child’s intellectual abilities can be heightened greatly with Tui-Na massage. By promoting healthy circulation, the brain receives the nourishment it needs to process your baby’s surroundings and boost his thirst for knowledge starting at his young age. Autistic children can also benefit in terms of sensory perception, focus, and hyperactivity.

baby massage3. The improved circulation to the muscular and skeletal systems.

As your baby grows and learns to move on her own, massage can help support her physical ability to do so. This promotes good motor coordination and keeps her muscles in great shape. Your baby’s progression from crawling to walking and running will be smoother and perhaps even quicker with the help of this added circulation.

4. This massage aids in proper digestion.

Research has shown that Tui-Na can promote healthy digestion. Infantile diarrhea is one of the particular conditions that was remedied in the majority of children given the massage. Naturally, constipation and gas is also addressed effectively, since the improved circulation promotes regular movement in the intestines. Additionally, appetite can be stimulated through massage if you find your baby is not eating as well as he should.

5. Tui-Na massage has been shown to cause significant improvements in mood and sleep behaviors.

It can reduce anxiety, hyperactivity, and insomnia and most children. Your baby will be able to sleep well through the night and experience much less distress after regular massage sessions. Bed-wetting and nightmares can therefore also be alleviated. Much like adults, your baby will be much happier after such healthful pampering.

As you can see, Tui-Na massage is highly advantageous for children and infants, especially those that may be prone to frequent illness. For more information about Tui-Na massage and how great it is for babies, you should visit

Tips to Maintain Healthy Weight Loss for Women

diet chips

Weight loss is a difficult task to maintain for both women and men, but women often struggle with healthy weight loss much more. Between fluctuations in hormones and juggling the stresses of maintaining work, home, and family tasks it tends to be a little more difficult to lose weight. Women are more likely to give in to the temptations of hyped-up rapid weight loss fads that all too frequently fail. The tried and true standards of healthy eating and ample exercise always apply, but there are some extra tips to help maintain healthy weight loss.

Increase Fluid Intake ♒

Thirst and hunger can often be mistaken. Instead of packing in empty calories, increasing fluid intake can help. A few slices of lemon or fruit infused, sugar-free tea not only keeps hydration levels adequate, but they also provide a feeling of fullness. Hydration is important all the time, but during weight loss it is a crucial part of staying healthy.

Adjust Diet Regimen 

Eating healthy is an important part of weight loss for women. Creating a healthy diet regimen takes a bit of readjusting as needed. For example, think about new things that can be added. Initially, a lot of things are removed especially if they are high in fat or calories. As the dieting continues, focus less on taking foods away and more on adding beneficial foods such as more vegetables and fruits. Be creative. Fruits and vegetables can be added to traditional dishes instead of a plate full of sides.

Avoid Unnecessary Snacking ツ

The ideal times for snacking are after breakfast and lunch. Those urges to grab a bag of chips or a pack of cookies after dinner should be avoided. Snacks should be healthy and light. If the late night snacking urge cannot be ignored, choose something nutritious or healthy, such as fruit or a fat-free, sugar-free ice cream with a little fresh fruit added.

Avoid Scheduled Eating When Possible ✿

It may seem hard, especially when a work schedule is involved, but it is a good idea to eat only when actual hunger is present. Many women eat because they are on a schedule or they indulge in what is called emotional eating. Stress, anger, depression, and boredom are met with eating. If scheduled meals cannot be avoided, only eat during those specific times and keep that same schedule every day. The body will adjust and experience hunger at those times. Stray away from emotional eating; it can send a diet downhill real fast.

Avoid Replacing All “Bad” Foods ❤

An ideal healthy diet should include all the foods a woman enjoys. Switching everything to low-calorie, fat-free, and carbohydrate-free can actually cause more harm. To function properly, the body needs everything from fat to sugar. The trick is to make adjustments and enjoy these foods in smaller amounts. Indulge in fast food or fried chicken, but limit the portion size and frequency to about once or twice a week.

close enough

Healthy weight loss is more about using common sense and listening to cues from the body. Once a diet and food regimen is created, efforts become much easier. Keep in mind, however, that everyone has a slip up. It does not mean the diet has failed. Just make adjustments and continue on.

The Bad Side Effects to Shaving Legs With a Razor

Shaving your legs with a razor might seem like an easy task, but it has more disadvantages than you might think. A lot of people use a razor to shave their face and body, so it would seem like this is the best way to get rid of unwanted facial hair. While shaving with a razor is the most popular form of hair removal out there, it also has many horrible side effects that can make your life miserable. There are just a few things that you should know if you are thinking of other alternatives to shaving and ditching the old razor and shaving cream.

Razor Bumps

According to Different Hair Removal Techniques Bring Different Results, razor bumps often happen to individuals who are shaving with a dull razor or on drier skin. Skin needs to be almost fully saturated with water in order for you to get a good shave. If the skin is even slightly dry, there is a good chance that you will get razor bumps when you are finished. Razor bumps look like a rash, so it can transform your skin into something that you won’t want to show off to the public. Trying to get a beautiful shave for bikini season is difficult to achieve when you’re dealing with this type of problem. Razor bumps can also be itchy, painful and cause ingrown hairs to form when the hair does start growing back.

Time Consuming

Shaving with a razor is very time-consuming when you really think about it. In order to avoid razor rash, you need to saturate your skin, which means taking a shower for a longer period of time or jumping into a hot bath. This is a waste of water and it is a waste of money for you in terms of getting beautiful and hair-free skin. Shaving itself is also very time-consuming because you need to go from one strip of hair to the next until all of the hair is gone. It takes a big chunk out of your otherwise busy day just so that you can get a gorgeous hair-free look.

It’s Expensive

Shaving might seem cheap because you only need a razor and some shaving cream, but these products can be incredibly expensive. Razors alone can cost you hundreds of dollars each month simply because you need a brand new one every single time you shave. Razors are also quite expensive themselves if you want to get a good brand. Sure you can save money by buying a cheap razor, but it is going to do you more harm than good in terms of getting a close shave. Shaving cream can also be cheap if you get a cheap brand, but those more-expensive and more-luxurious brands can be pricey when purchased from your local store.

It Hurts

Cutting yourself with a razor is one of the easiest things to do. Razors are very sharp, especially if they are brand new out of the package. Because of this, it is quite easy to nick yourself while shaving your legs. No one wants to have to deal with ugly and painful razor cuts, so this just eliminates the look that you were going for by shaving your legs in the first place. Using a new razor should be done with delicate care in order to prevent you from cutting yourself and causing pain.

It Can Be Dangerous

You might think that shaving with a razor is easy enough and isn’t harmful, but it can actually be dangerous. Based on research by Privé Aesthetics, shaving with a rusty razor can cause infection and disease which can actually be fatal. A deep razor cut that you deal with could require stitches. These instances might seem far-fetched, but they are a lot more common than you might think.

Our Body Absorbs Chemicals From Body and Hair Products

Poison Cosmetic

Although the cosmetics industry insists that its products are safe and that there is no reason to be concerned about the use of chemical preservatives, increasing evidence suggests that people, and women in particular, absorb a significant amount of chemicals from skin care products, hair care products and makeup each year. Some estimates put the number as high as 4 pounds and 6 ounces per year. Savvy consumers are concerned that the omnipresence of chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products increases one’s risk for cancer and other health complications.

From an exhaustive list of chemicals found in such products, a particular few deserve consumers’ attention due to their widespread use. First, parabens are widely used in creams, lotions and deodorants as an antifungal and antimicrobial preservative. Although the available research is too limited to state conclusively that parabens are carcinogenic, trace amounts of parabens have been found in breast tumor samples.

Phthalates, commonly used in nail polish, perfumes and fragrances in other products, are another chemical of concern. These endocrine disruptors behave like estrogens in the body and are believed to be a common cause of early puberty in girls, which in turn increases one’s risk for reproductive cancers later in life. Finally, triclosan is commonly used to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria in soaps, toothpaste and deodorant. In addition to disrupting the body’s hormonal activity – particularly the thyroid, which regulates metabolism – the widespread use of agents such as triclosan may be increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

Cosmetic Infographic

While it is not uncommon to hear joking speculations as to how much lipstick women “eat” in the course of a year by repeatedly raising a glass or mug to her lips while wearing lipstick, the reality concerning lip color versus other products for skin and hair is actually much more stark: while that tiny quantity of “eaten” lipstick is broken down within the gastrointestinal tract by enzymes in saliva and the stomach, the integumentary system provides no such protection against chemicals absorbed through the skin.

The cosmetics and personal care industries contend that their products are impossible to mass produce without using chemical preservatives to extend shelf life. This may be true, given the massive quantities produced and the expected shelf life of one to two years; however, a growing supply of more natural body products, including organic skincare &  hair products, is available which do not contain chemical preservatives. The makers of these alternatives eschew the use of chemical preservatives by preparing their products either to order or in very limited production runs so as the reduce or eliminate the need for chemical preservatives. Some such producers rely on natural preservatives, such as citric and other acids used to preserve olives and other foods at room temperature. In addition to being free of harmful chemicals, these products are often produced in a cruelty-free or even “vegan” manner, meaning that they are free of animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals.

For many consumers, learning how to best protect oneself against chemicals in the environment seems like a chore at best and an exercise in futility at worst. Fortunately, it is easier than most people realize to reduce one’s exposure by choosing personal care products that are free of chemical preservatives. By educating oneself about these and other chemicals in the environment and the risks associated with the ingredients found in commonly used products, one can significantly reduce one’s risk for cancer and other chronic health conditions.

Types of Chinese Herbs Used in Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Chinese Herbs

Lymphatic drainage is one of the ways our body maintains a healthy immune system and efficient immune system response. The lymphatic system is a network of ducts and vessels that transfer various antibodies and white blood cells to the rest of the body. The ability of these duct and vessels – or lymph nodes – to transport is reduced by a number of possible factors, including: fatigue, inactivity, stress, chemical additives, infection, food additives, age, and heredity. Lymphatic drainage can help flush your body of these things, as well as reduce menstrual cramps, hayfever, cellulite, sinusitis, and water retention.

Chinese Herbs Used in Lymphatic Drainage

The Chinese have been practising lymphatic drainage since around 1587, when a Chinese physician named Gong Tingxian (龚廷贤) published a book with various formula recipes all created to cleanse the lymphatic system. Depending on the location of the body, the Tingxian identified different types of phlegm and fluid that move through that part of the lymphatic system. Tingxian created his formulas to address wind and demons – which, in his day, were thought to be the two main disease-causing agents within the body.

Tingxian’s favoured herbs were hoelen, pinellia, citrus, ginger, magnolia bark, atractylodes, and cardamom, and saussurea. Other Chinese herbs used in traditional lymphatic cleanses include arisaema and cyperus.

The herbs that Tingxian used to treat wind and demons are the same herbs used today to cleanse the lymphatic system.

Hoelen is a wood-decay fungus – and is often referred to as a mushroom – that resembles a small coconut. The citrus types Tingxian used in his lymphatic formulas include: chih-shih, chih-ko, and blue citrus. Saussurea is a perennial flower characterised by its woolly purple bristles. The plant grows in China’s cooler, more temperate climates. Pinellia, commonly referred to as the “Green Dragon” because of the shape of its leaves, is an indispensable element in Chinese medicine as a cough and phlegm suppressant.

The green cardamoms used by Tingxian in his lymphatic-clearing formulas are used elsewhere in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat gum and tooth infections, cure throat ailments, and treat lung congestion and tuberculosis. The magnolia bark exploited by Tingxian and other traditional Chinese physicians is derived from a magnolia tree that grows along mountains and in valleys at altitudes of 300 meters to 1500 meters in China. To prepare the herb, the bark is stripped from the tree’s branches, stems, and roots. The bark carries a heavy aroma and is able to treat various ailments relating to anxiety and the body’s vessels.
